FACC opts for eco-liner

16.10.2018

50% more loading volume: Eco-liner enables more ecological and economical transport routes

Our mission is to make flying more eco-friendly. We implement this goal not only in the area of our technologies and production, but also in the supply of our products. Since the beginning of October, FACC has been using an eco-liner to transport its products from the site in Ort im Innkreis to Airbus in Hamburg.

Ecological and economic advantages

Due to their high transport capacity (loading width: 2.4 m, loading height: 2.6 to 3.0 m, total length: 25.25 m), the eco-liners allow an increase in loading volume of 50%. Compared to the transfer with conventional trucks, up to 145.000 KG CO²-emissions per vehicle can be avoided per year and fuel consumption can be reduced by 20%.

From FACC to Airbus

As eco-liners are not yet approved in Austria, the two semi-trailers are transported separately to the German border, which is 17 km away. This is where the two semi-trailers are connected and the 838 km long transport route to Airbus begins. Per week two round trips to Hamburg are planned. The current test phase runs for a total of seven weeks. The line operation will be implemented from February.
