Front Acoustic Panel
The acoustic lining separates the front panel and the motor channel. While the acoustic energy is converted into heat, an absorbent lining ensures effective noise suppression.
Rear Acoustic Panel
The rear acoustic panel is typically located in the exhaust area of the engine, consists of sound-absorbing materials and serves to reduce noise and improve airflow.
Fan Track Liner
A fan track liner is an assembly for lining the fan raceway of an engine duct fan, which reduces stress and deformation of the front of the fan housing in the event of a fan blade failure.
Nose Cone
The nose cone reduces damage to the engine caused by bird strikes and reduces ice formation. The spirals serve as a warning to ground personnel during taxiing.
Annulus Filler
An annulus filler filler is designed to be attached to a rotor disc of a gas turbine engine and to bridge the gap between two adjacent blades attached to the rotor disc. The annulus filler defines an air flow area for the air sucked in by the engine.
Fan Case
As the primary device for catching the fan blades, fan casings are crucial for the safe operation of an aircraft.
Outer Bypass Duct
The air flows through the inlet, through a channel, and out of the nozzle. The air leaves the engine at a higher speed than when it entered. The passage through which the air flows is called the bypass channel.
Splitter Fairing
A splitter fairing smoothes the airflow and allows for even air intake. Reduces the ingress of contaminants such as dirt or ice. Improved aerodynamics helps to improve performance, reduce fuel consumption, and reduce engine noise.
Fan Case Liner
In the event of fan blade loss, the hardened lining of the fan housing allows the fan blade tips to move circumferentially around the fan housing. This reduces destructive cutting away of the fan housing, which minimizes damage to the fan housing and reduces the torque load on the fan housing caused by rotor deflections.
Nose Cone
The nose cone reduces damage to the engine caused by bird strikes and reduces ice formation. The spirals serve as a warning to ground personnel during taxiing.
Air Inlet
The air inlet directs airflow into the engine and is equipped with acoustic treatments and an ice protection system.
Fan Cowl
The fan cowl protects the engine and its systems while enabling easy maintenance access. Made from lightweight composite materials, it reduces the nacelle’s overall weight and contributes to lower fuel consumption and a smaller environmental footprint.
Thrust Reverser
The thrust reverser redirects airflow forward to generate reverse thrust, helping to slow the aircraft. It reduces brake wear and plays a key role in deceleration on short, wet, icy, or snowy runways.
