From the construction of aircraft parts to metalworking: as part of the FACC Future Team, around 40 apprentices are receiving training to become the aerospace experts of tomorrow. With two additional weeks of vacation, FACC is underlining the importance of apprenticeship training while creating further incentives to pursue a career at FACC.
Components for the aerospace industry are, above all, lightweight. In order to achieve this seemingly easy task, experts in many fields are required - and, most importantly, excellent training. For the aerospace company, the FACC Future Team is of particular significance as this is where the top employees of tomorrow are trained. Moreover, the proportion of female and male apprentices at FACC is balanced.
With the aim of inspiring motivated young people to pursue a career with apprenticeship training, FACC AG has put together a comprehensive package with further incentives in favor of a career in aerospace: “Our apprentices will now get two additional weeks of vacation,” emphasizes Robert Machtlinger. “As a sign of appreciation for their outstanding achievements, we wish to align their vacation with the summer vacation of students while giving them more time to relax and spend time with friends.”
Apprenticeship as a career boost
With this measure, FACC is also sending out a signal intended to raise the status of vocational professions. With the possibility of taking school-leaving exams (Matura) during the apprenticeship period, opting for a vocational profession is at least as valuable as attending a secondary school. “In the past, our apprentices have made fast career jumps if they were sufficiently motivated," explains apprentice trainer Helmut Winkler. “Those who are able to gain an insight into different areas of the company at a young age while receiving high-quality training usually have a very clear idea of what they want. We at FACC do our utmost to support them in this development.”
Attractive overall package
For nearly all members of the Future Team, the main reason for starting an apprenticeship at FACC is their enthusiasm for the aerospace industry. As one of the top 20 aviation companies with employees from 41 nations, FACC is a gateway to the international world of aerospace and has a lot of appeal for young people. The recently adopted package provides further incentives to apply. The cost of their driver's license is covered if they complete their apprenticeship successfully, and lunch is provided free of charge to all apprentices.
Interested young people can submit their application or start a trial training period at any time. The option of a shorter apprenticeship period is available to those with school-leaving exams (Matura). Further information at: www.facc.com/en/Jobs-careers/Apprenticeship-training
