FACC impressed the jury with its above-average export share and its strong presence in aviation growth markets. "This award is a great honor for us," said Robert Machtlinger, CEO of FACC, stressing the significance of the Export Prize as a special confirmation of FACC's successful international business. "Our high-tech products are exported worldwide. I am delighted that distinguished personalities from business, politics and the media have now honored our successful corporate activities across national borders with the gold award of the Austrian Export Prize."
Aviation growth boosts exports
The company exports aviation technologies for all major aircraft. As a technology partner to all major manufacturers, FACC works together with its customers on solutions for the mobility of the future. Worldwide, an aircraft with FACC technologies on board takes off every second. With an export quota of almost 100%, FACC enjoys outstanding international success and is a true model company in terms of exports. True to the motto "From Austria to the entire world", FACC has successively expanded its international locations in recent years and now operates 13 sites in Europe, North and South America and Asia. The sustained long-term growth trend in the civil aviation industry is proving to be conducive to exports. The market forecasts of the OEMs assume a constant annual increase in passenger volumes of around 4.5%. As a result, approximately 40,000 new aircraft will be needed between 2019 and 2037. The Asia-Pacific region, in particular, is experiencing above-average growth. One in four aircraft produced worldwide is exported to China alone.
With its Chinese ownership structure, FACC is excellently positioned on the future aviation market. "A strong global footprint is an important strategic element for FACC," said FACC CEO Robert Machtlinger during the award ceremony, thereby underlining the international nature of the globally active aerospace group. "Our primary goal is to strengthen the company's presence wherever our customers and their sales markets are located."
The Austrian Export Prize
The Austrian Export Prize honors the outstanding commitment and success of Austrian companies in foreign markets. The Prize, which is awarded by the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber (WKÖ) and the Austrian Federal Ministry for Digital and Economic Affairs each year, recognizes significant contributions made by exporting enterprises to Austria's current account surplus. The jury of experts decides on the winners on the basis of assessment criteria such as successful market niche policy, the marketing of special services specific to Austria and innovativeness in the export market. "For the 25th time in a row now, Austria's top exporters have taken center stage - because success deserves to be duly celebrated," stressed Michael Otter, Head of Foreign Trade Austria at the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber. "Our export trade set new records in 2017 and 2018. With their red-white-red successes on international markets, our companies are making a reliable contribution to further growth, job creation and prosperity in Austria," Otter added.
