Aviation industry supplier FACC is organizing a summer kindergarten for the first time in the Innviertel region in 2015. Working parents can now bridge the summer period when kindergartens are normally closed. In collaboration with the community kindergarten in St. Martin im Innkreis, the company is extending its social engagement with this to cover another important field. Flexible working hours and "home office" offerings are other ways in which the company supports young parents.
"As an important and responsible employer in the Innviertel region, we always strive to create the perfect environment for our Crew and their families. Due to this commitment, we are organizing the first-ever Summer Kindergarten this year for our colleagues' children," says FACC COO Robert Machtlinger. In cooperation with the community kindergarten in St. Martin im Innkreis, childcare places are being offered from August 17 through September 4, 2015. FACC children will be cared for by the experienced team at the community kindergarten. "This pilot project will also help us determine the demand for this service, so that we can organize it in a targeted manner in the coming years. FACC is offering the parents financial support as well. If this project meets with an appropriate level of acceptance, we will gladly expand it further in coming years," says Robert Machtlinger.
Flexible working hours and "home office"
The FACC Summer Kindergarten is another service provided to parents working at the Upper Austrian company. "In many cases, a kindergarten cannot solve all challenges faced by parents. Consequently, we also make employees' jobs as flexible as possible in terms of working hours and workplace," says Helmut Andexer, Vice President Human Resources. Individually tailored working hours are found above all in the administrative area. Here FACC offers attractive working time models, drawing them up in collaboration with the affected employees. This allows parents entrusted with raising children to align their working hours optimally with those of childcare facilities. "When it comes to special concerns, we are always prepared to exploit all options within the realms of feasibility and to cater to the needs of our young families," emphasizes Helmut Andexer. This applies equally to situations caused by particular psychological or physical stress, such as those after sick leave. In some areas, it is even possible to work from home. Here, individual "home office" options are created as and when required to secure employees' knowledge and commitment for the company and to provide optimum working conditions.
