Georg Horacek becomes new Vice President HR with FACC

With Georg Horacek FACC is taking a proven HR professional on board. As the new Vice President Human Resources the 56-year-old manager, who holds degrees in law and business administration, will take charge of recruiting, the implementation of the group-wide HR strategy, as well as national and international personnel development and training. In this position, he will report directly to FACC-CEO Robert Machtlinger.

“With Georg Horacek we could enlist a proven HR expert with more than 20 years of experience in personnel management, who will contribute his expertise towards driving some decisive developments”, says Robert Machtlinger, CEO of FACC. “He covers the whole range of operational and strategic human resources work and will support us, in times of dynamic growth, to recruit and develop talented junior staff and specialists for FACC.”

From 2016, Georg Horacek worked as a freelance HR consultant and lecturer at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. Before that, he held the function of Senior Vice President Human Resources at OMV AG in Vienna, where he was responsible for the sections Strategic and International Personnel Management, Labour Relations, Personnel Controlling, and Compensation & Benefits from the years 2000. Prior to that, Vienna-born Georg Horacek filled various HR positions within Unilever, Phillips, and Lafarge. After graduating from the Vienna University of Economics and Business, he started his career as an assistant professor at the human resources department of the University of Paderborn in 1986. “FACC is on a successful growth course. And human resources development is an exciting task in the enterprise”, says Georg Horacek. “Moreover, the recruitment of new employees is a growing challenge. I am very much looking forward to mastering the big tasks together with the HR team of FACC”, says Horacek about his new assignment.
