The rise of Friedrich Brunnhuber is a prime example of a career par excellence at FACC. Within a few short years, the qualified carpenter developed into a renowned quality manager through performance, team spirit, appreciation, and success. Thanks to these practiced FACC corporate values, he has become a sought-after expert in the company after only six years. On August 1, 2014, the native "Innviertler" took another step up his career ladder in China. "Personal development is open to every employee at FACC on an unprecedented scale," the 40-year-old manager confirms.
"When I began working for FACC at the recommendation of an acquaintance, I had no idea of my personal potential in the company," says Friedrich Brunnhuber. Born in Ried im Innkreis in 1973, the FACC manager began his training with an apprenticeship in carpentry. He later undertook further training to become a network administrator and came to FACC in 2008. "October 13, 2008 was my first workday with the company. Since then, I have managed to realize my full professional potential and reach one personal milestone after another."
One of many careers
The personal development of the quality manager is one of many textbook examples of up-and-coming employees at the Upper Austrian company. In-house vocational training and external training courses ensure the expertise of employees and expand it continuously. After starting as a quality inspector, Friedrich Brunnhuber gradually took on the widest range of responsibilities. "My active participation in the Material Review Board helped me to build up specialist knowledge. After a while, this led to me becoming the end controller for important projects," Brunnhuber explains. By the end of 2010, he was already responsible for a 16-strong team as a foreman in Quality Inspection. This extensive managerial experience made him the ideal candidate in 2012 for the position of Group Leader of this department. "I took up this challenge with great pleasure. Due to my knowledge, I even received the offer at the end of the year to become SAP Keyuser for Quality as well. At the same time, my determination to make a difference drove me from one challenge to the next," Brunnhuber says. Together with experts from other departments, he shares responsibility for several milestones in the company, such as implementation of an electronic qualification system.
The expertise gained from this abundance of responsible positions then brought him the offer to work as Quality Manager in China. He moved into his office in the Middle Kingdom at the end of July and has been putting his experience into practice for FACC in China since August 1. Within the space of only six years in the company, Friedrich Brunnhuber has therefore pursued an impressive career with the internationally successful aviation industry supplier. As one of more than 3000 employees in the global FACC Crew, he has managed to realize his ambitions perfectly. "What motivates me in particular is the fact that people can achieve a great deal with personal commitment at FACC. Teamwork plays a very important role and also formed the basis for my success. Together with the success story of the company, it forms the basis for international careers." His first few days in China were naturally marked by much work. However, the FACC manager is also looking forward to making personal impressions in the next few weeks. "I am particularly interested in Chinese culture and the facets of everyday life so far from Europe. I will take away many experiences with me from China, which will be very valuable both professionally and privately. I would recommend taking such a path to any young person and exploring the world both professionally and privately. FACC is the ideal starting point," says Brunnhuber.
