Farnborough Airshow: FACC´s positive review

The dynamic within the aerospace industry continues. This once again was confirmed at the Farnborough Airshow, one of the most important exhibition and trading platforms of the international aerospace industry. Airbus and Boeing alone locked orders and options for 430 new aircraft. 70 percent of these new aircraft will be delivered to customers in the APAC (Asia Pacific) region.

FACC AG, the Austrian high tech group, benefits from the positive market development and is, together with the main OEMs, again at the forefront. The new contracts received by the OEMs together with FACC´s balanced program portfolio will increase FACC´s order backlog by about 200 million Euro. Essential contribution was gained with more than 200 new orders for the Airbus A320 family (A319/A320/A321). FACC produces high tech products for all aircraft of the A320 program.

The announced reduction of the production rate for the A380 by Airbus to a rate of 12 aircraft per year as of 2018 was however no surprise for FACC. “The rate reduction was an awaited announcement among industry experts and is at no point a risk for FACC´s future growth,” says Robert Machtlinger, CEO of FACC AG. ”We will much rather benefit from the continuous rate increase on the Airbus A350 XWB at our Upper Austrian facilities in the years to come,” added the CEO, Robert Machtlinger.

The dynamic development within the overall aerospace industry and the envisaged sales volume of one billion Euro according to the “FACC Vision 2020” create also an increasing demand for new skilled workers and professionals. Therefore, FACC´s recruiting campaign continues. In 2016/17 alone FACC´s plans to employ 250 new employees.
