Recognition for the social responsibility of FACC as a job generator in Upper Austria.
The Upper Austrian Industrial Federation either presented a prize for the fifth time to companies that invested in Upper Austria between 2013 and 2015 and preserved jobs or created them. This year, FACC has been honored with the coveted "Standort-Corona" in Silver.
On March 9, 2016, the prize for social responsibility in Upper Austrian industry was presented for the fifth time. The "Standort-Corona" in Silver was awarded to FACC AG. Together with Chief Operating Officer Robert Machtlinger, the CEO of the FACC AG, Walter Stephan, accepted the Silver Corona 2016 and described the award as "fantastic recognition for our investment activities, which have made us one of the leading businesses in Upper Austria and consequently an engine for growth in the whole region."
In the last three years, FACC AG has invested 220 million euros in the expansion of the Upper Austrian sites. Thanks to its clear corporate strategy and substantial investments in technology, quality, and cost leadership, the company has succeeded in improving its competitiveness and sustainably reinforcing its position as an innovative aviation industry supplier. The Technology Center opened in 2013 with its associated Test Center acts as a focal point for FACC's global R&D activities, thereby strengthening Upper Austria as a location for industry. "Since 2013, we have succeeded in finding and taking on board more than 500 new FACC employees," says Robert Machtlinger. Ongoing improvements in efficiency, automation and Industry 4.0 initiatives, as well as the establishment of modern production lines, secure the jobs of a workforce currently comprising 2,750 employees and the commercial success and technological leadership of the company. The investments made will continue to ensure further growth in coming years and underline the company's commitment to Austria as a business location.
Secretary of State Dr. Harald Mahrer presented the award in a festive ceremony at the Raiffeisenlandesbank Oberösterreich, which concluded with a panel discussion on the subject of "Austria 2016 - How will the turnaround be achieved?" The basic conditions for Austria as a business location were debated passionately, with Walter Stephan emphasizing that Upper Austria can only become more attractive as a location in the long term, and provide more jobs, if there is appreciably less state bureaucracy and fewer governmental regulations for Austrian companies.
