Two days before the Oscar ceremony in Hollywood, the Los Angeles Foreign Trade Center of the Austrian Economic Chamber rewarded outstanding achievements of Austrian companies in the US market with the USABizAward, the "Business Oscar."
"The USABizAward places extraordinary and innovative enterprises on the red carpet and in the media spotlight. Many of these niche world champions are barely known in Austria," says Rudolf Thaler, the Austrian trade representative in Los Angeles. The awards were presented for the fifth time on February 20 this year.
FACC AG also received an "Oscar" at the award ceremony. In the investments category, the Los Angeles Foreign Trade Center rewarded FACC for its high-tech investment in Wichita/USA. In a record time of only three months, FACC brought a plant on stream, which specializes in the retrofitting of fuel-saving Split Scimitar Winglets. More than 3,000 Boeing 737NG aircraft currently in service will be fitted with the new winglets over the next few years, with around 70% of the machines hailing from the USA. With its investment in this US subsidiary, FACC is expanding its global presence and consolidating its market position.
