FACC Supplier Award 2016: FACC honors its best suppliers

Premium quality is very important to FACC AG. This is why the company honored its best suppliers with the "FACC Excellent Supplier Award" for the eleventh time. As in previous years, three suppliers were acknowledged in gold, silver, and bronze categories for their exceptional performance and exemplary achievements. In addition, one company was presented with the "Special Performance Award" in recognition of particularly good service.

"The success of FACC as one of the leading aviation suppliers depends undoubtedly on many factors. One important factor is the absolute commitment of our supply chain to supply us continuously with products of the highest quality on schedule and in a flawless condition," says Robert Machtlinger, CEO of FACC AG, summarizing the company's expectations of its suppliers. During the course of the award presentation Rudolf Leitner, Executive Vice President Procurement at FACC, gave thanks for the mutually beneficial collaboration: "The aim of the 'Excellent Supplier Awards' is to pay tribute to these suppliers, who have always met our exacting demands and requirements with their efforts, initiatives, and ingenuity and to show them the appreciation that they deserve".

Global supply chain
In total, FACC works together with around 500 suppliers worldwide. In 2016/17, FACC's procurement volume amounted to 430 million euros. With approximately 60 percent, Europe takes the major share of this procurement volume. Outside Europe, FACC sources products in particular from the USA, the Middle East, Canada, and India. Above all, FACC purchases outsourced metallic and plastic parts, as well as a wide range of production materials such as prepregs and honeycomb cores. The purchasing spectrum also includes commodities, production equipment, services, and capital goods. In aviation's growth markets, such as China, collaboration with local suppliers is a key success factor for the further growth of FACC.
