FACC receives EASA “Design Organization” approval

FACC Operations GmbH, a subsidiary of the publicly listed FACC AG, has successfully concluded EASA certification and recently gained EASA Part 21 – Subpart J – Design Organization Approval (DOA). This makes FACC an approved Design Organization within the European aviation industry, authorized to independently develop and approve designs for modifications and repairs.

Approval was granted bythe European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) after FACC, in coordination with the Austrian Aviation Authority - Austro Control GmbH, had demonstrated fulfillment of all the relevant requirements during the course of the comprehensive approval process. With this approval it is now possible for FACC to modify aircraft components, approve repair instructions and establish and publish amendments to aircraft flight manuals. Approval was granted for CS-23 normal, utility, aerobatic and commuter aeroplanes and CS-25 large aeroplanes. As an approved Design Organization (DO), FACC is monitored by the authorities and audited by Austro Control at regular intervals as well.

"I would like to express my thanks and appreciation to the whole FACC Design Organization Team for this considerable achievement. Only through their many years of experience and expertise in the field of aircraft design did we manage to obtain this important approval as a Design Organization. My thanks also go to the representatives of Austro Control, who supported us with expert advice throughout the entire approval process," says a delighted Walter A. Stephan about the successful certification, which marks the third EASA approval for FACC alongside the company's existing approvals as a production and maintenance organization. "This Design Organization Approval opens up new areas of the aviation business for FACC. Not only our longstanding OEM customers but also airlines themselves will benefit from us being able to directly offer them an expanded range of services along the whole aircraft lifecycle, from design and development to production and extending to maintenance and technical publications," adds Hermann Filsegger, Head of Design Organization. FACC commands extensive design and engineering expertise upon which the global aircraft industry supplier has continuously built and expanded since its foundation 25 years ago. A pool of highly qualified technicians and engineers design and develop sophisticated turnkey solutions in advanced fiber-composite technology which reduce aircraft weight and fuel consumption while simultaneously increasing their efficiency, cost-effectiveness and environmental compatibility.
