FACC honors its best suppliers with Supplier Awards

Collaboration with the most efficient suppliers guarantees an outstanding and permanent contribution to corporate success. For this reason, FACC relies worldwide on first-class, strong partners. In 2015, FACC again acknowledged the exceptional performance and exemplary achievements of its best suppliers with the “Excellent Supplier Award 2015” in gold, silver, and bronze, as well as with the “Special Performance Award”.

“Particularly in times of global competition, the fact that FACC can depend on its suppliers for delivery reliability, quality, and sustainable improvements is a decisive competitive advantage,” explains Rudolf Leitner, Executive Vice President Procurement at FACC. “The companies honored this year have all taken up this challenge and are therefore a positive example of competitive partnership.”

The 2015 FACC Supplier Awards went to the following companies:

FACC currently works together with around 650 suppliers from 30 countries. The purchasing volume of the Upper Austrian aircraft component supplier amounted to almost 310 million euros in the 2014/15 financial year. FACC’s major trading partners – in terms of both import and export – are Germany and the USA. On the procurement side, Austria comes in third place with a volume of 44 million euros. As the winner of the Excellent Supplier Award in silver, Upper Austrian company Gummi-Metall-Technik GmbH is a worthy representative of the national suppliers. “With so many workplaces – both within the company and at its Austrian suppliers – FACC also makes a substantial contribution to domestic value added and underpins its position as one of the leading businesses in the region.”

The aim of FACC’s procurement strategy is to ensure consistent and continuous exploitation of all existing commercial potential for achieving short, medium, and long-term competitive advantages for FACC, thereby sustainably supporting the corporate goals. FACC expects a high level of customer service from its suppliers with regard to quality and delivery reliability. In return, FACC offers its suppliers long-term partnerships with high growth potential in a global high-tech industry, with the opportunity to jointly press ahead with innovations and progress in the field of materials, processes, and technologies.

With the “Excellent Supplier Awards”, FACC rewards outstanding performance in the field of high product quality and strict adherence to delivery terms and conditions. Customer service, flexibility, cooperation, and the willingness to define, accept, and implement cost-reducing and process-optimizing measures are taken into consideration as additional assessment criteria. The “Special Performance Award” is presented to suppliers and/or organizations whose achievements cannot be measured with conventional methods, but who have demonstrated outstanding commitment both to FACC and to its customers.
