On February 9, the Upper Austrian Regional Health Insurance Fund (OÖGKK) presented FACC with its seal of quality for workplace health promotion (aka BGF) at the Ursulinenhof in Linz. The main selection criterion for this prestigious national award was FACC's long-term "Healthy & Satisfied” project. It comprehensively integrates the subject of health into the corporate culture, creating sustainable improvements for employees and the company itself.
The BGF seal of quality is regarded as a visible symbol and recognized standard for high-quality workplace health promotion. In an objective and transparent process, independent experts assess whether the demanding quality criteria of the European network for BGF have been fulfilled. FACC received the sought-after BGF seal of quality from OÖGKK for its exemplary "Healthy & Satisfied" project. It is valid from 2017 through 2019 and can be reapplied for afterwards.
Intermediate success for long-term project
FACC CEO Robert Machtlinger is very pleased: "With 'Healty & Satisfied,' FACC has succeeded in integrating the issue of health comprehensively and sustainably into our corporate culture, rather then considering it in isolation. More than 900 implemented actions
The roots of "Healthy & Satisfied" extend back to 2012. At the time, the number of psychological disorders was increasing rapidly. FACC reacted swiftly and initiated a broad-based, long-term project to deal with this issue head-on. "Between February and September 2013, around 90 workshops with a total of 750 participants were held. In this process, key action areas were defined, causes discussed and measures for improvement devised collectively. To date, a total of more than 900 actions have been implemented successfully in the interests of employee satisfaction," explains Helmut Andexer, Vice President Human Resources.
Company physician gives positive interim assessment
Company physician Dr. Christian Richter points out concrete improvements: "The number of employees affected by psychological disorders has decreased sharply. When someone accepts help for psychological problems, they can be treated and assisted quickly. This has dramatically reduced the number of burnout cases. The process of raising awareness has been strongly supported in the company. Today there is a great appreciation of the problem and a willingness to communicate on all sides at FACC. Furthermore, we have succeeded in reducing the number of health risks in the workplace to a minimum, in close collaboration with the safety specialists. FACC can be justifiably proud of these results!"
