Austrian aviation industry supplier FACC is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its foundation in 2014. To mark the occasion, a party is being held on September 21, 2014 in St. Martin im Innkreis. In 1989, FACC split away from its former parent company, Fischer Ski & Tennis. In the 25 years since, FACC has developed into a global player in the aviation industry with more than 3,000 employees worldwide. 55 members of the FACC Crew have seen this through since 1989 and some even longer. They are a symbol of the continuity in the company. Their expertise has paved the way for FACC to become a globally sought-after producer of aircraft components.
"When I began my apprenticeship at Fischer in the 1980s, I would never have dreamed of one day having the opportunity to manage the production of aircraft parts," says Bernhard Buchmayer. The Head of Production of the Aerostructures division was already an established employee when the company was founded in 1989. He had switched to FACC several years before, when the company was still part of Fischer. Ulrike Aigner has also been working for FACC since these pioneering days. Since 1986, she has been responsible for various tasks in the Cleanroom. These two longstanding FACC employees are evidence of the importance of experienced experts to production. This collective knowledge is one of the secrets of FACC's success.
Storybook careers
Rudolf Leitner began working for Fischer in 1985 as a production employee. After several stops in production and materials management, he rose to became Warehouse Manager thanks to his dedication and knowledge. Today, as Purchasing Manager and authorized signatory, he commands one of the key posts. "I've passed through practically all levels of the company and come to know and appreciate FACC from the bottom up," says Leitner. Andrea Schachinger's career took a completely different course. The current PR Manager of the FACC Group began her work as a secretary to the management in 1989. Today she is responsible for corporate communications. "FACC stands for sustainable, secure jobs. I am very proud to have worked for such a successful and internationally prominent aviation company for so many years. I'm really looking forward to our party," says Schachinger.
