FACC Honours selected Suppliers with Supplier Awards

Partnerships with the most productive and industrious suppliers play an important role in any company’s long-term success; and FACC AG – like many others - rely heavily on their own world-wide top-notch suppliers. Once again FACC have honoured three of their suppliers for exceptional commitment and exemplary performance with the “Excellent Supplier Award 2013” in Gold, Silver and Bronze. In addition, an organization has also been chosen to receive the “Special Performance Award” in recognition of their services and total support. This year is also rather special as the actual award has been designed by a particular group of FACC apprentices.

With the annual Excellent Supplier Award, FACC recognizes outstanding performance in the areas of high quality products and reliable adherence to delivery requirements. The nomination selection criteria also takes into consideration additional factors such as customer service, flexibility, co-operation, a willingness to develop, accept and implement cost-saving including process-optimising measures. The "Special Performance Award" is presented to a supplier and/or organisation whose performance cannot be measured by conventional methods, but have consistently shown outstanding commitment to both FACC and its customers.

Rudolf Leitner, Executive Vice President Procurement, thanked the suppliers for their close cooperation and highlighted what FACC expects of its partners: “Without a doubt our Suppliers & Manufacturers are totally influential in the perpetual success of FACC. The absolute commitment of our Supply Chain is entirely paramount in our proficiency to manufacture, produce and deliver high quality products to our customers. The one and only rationale of presenting these annual Supplier Awards is to publically acclaim and congratulate those relentless Suppliers & Manufacturers who by their own accomplishments, enterprises and ingenuity have relentlessly kept up with our ever changing high demands and requirements. On behalf of FACC, I would like to offer my whole-hearted congratulations to the recipients; and also record a ‘Vote of Thanks’ to all of our Suppliers and Manufacturers for their sustained support and patronage”.

With these annual supplier awards, FACC can publicly recognise and reward optimum suppliers within its own supply chain and identify those who are totally dependable, trustworthy and contribute greatly towards our ultimate goal of Total Customer Satisfaction. By achieving and maintaining exceptional performances; these particular suppliers are essential for ensuring the future success of themselves and FACC. Beneficiaries of an FACC “Excellent Supplier Award” and "Special Performance Award" should accept this award as public recognition of their success which – indisputably - will project a positive and constructive image of their company It should also be seen by each member of staff and taken as a constructive statement in regard to their ‘excellence of service’ and consequently motivate them to continually maintain and improve their products, processes and services; thus contributing greatly to the overall success of the firm.

Apprentices design and produce new trohpy
A competition was held between our groups of Apprentices to design the actual trophy for this year’s award.  The criteria for the competition was stringent, as the new Supplier Award trophy should be a symbol of the “firm and permanent” commitment of FACC as constituted in the statement "Extend Your Expectations"; to consistently surpass the high expectations set in the company and its supply chain. Creativity combined with craftsmanship was in demand in the implementation phase. The apprentices gave great proof of their acquired skills by designing and manufacturing a trophy that is representative of FACC’s special performance and high quality products. The shape of the winning trophy is based on the FACC logo and is made from carbon, the material most commonly used by the company.
