On October 13, FACC honored 219 long-serving employees at the Loryhof inn in Wippenham. Robert Machtlinger congratulated them in person on a total of 2,915 years of service.
“On a global scale, an aircraft with FACC components takes off or lands on board every second. We are now one of the top 100 companies in the global aircraft industry. It is your know-how that helps us to move forward and ensures innovation. Your willingness, your commitment and your loyalty make FACC successful", Robert Machtlinger thanked the jubilees at the Loryhof. His brief outlook for the future was optimistic: "More than 40,000 new aircraft will be needed in the next two decades. In order to benefit from this market growth, we will invest up to 100 million euros in our sites and new projects over the next three years."
A first for the company: 40 years of loyal service
A total of 215 members of the FACC crew celebrated ten to thirty years of service this year. Accompanied by interesting annual reviews and personal honors, a communicative evening and an excellent banquet were enjoyed until late into the night. Franz Schwarzmaier has been serving FACC – and Fischer, as the company was still known before 1989 – for a total of 35 years. At the same time, Hans Peter Hofstätter and Johann Schrems celebrated a first for the company: they have both served FACC for four decades. Hans Peter’s career reflects the impressive evolution of the company: “At the start of the 1980s, when the company was still known as Fischer, we were already attempting to transfer fiber-composite expertise from ski production to aircraft component manufacturing. The team back then was tiny compared to now. When FACC was officially formed in 1989, our crew consisted of just 102 employees.” Johann is also still impressed by the FACC spirit after 40 years of service: “We have grown very quickly as a company and a team. But one thing has remained almost unchanged since the beginning – our togetherness, and the will to achieve our goals together.”
Attractive employer with excellent prospects
FACC employs a workforce of more than 3,300 staff worldwide – and the number is growing. “We’re very pleased to have so many loyal staff on board. By serving the company in an exemplary manner for so many years, they have made a considerable contribution to the success of FACC. Their loyalty to the company demonstrates just how attractive we are as an employer. A glimpse into the future of aviation reveals outstanding prospects – both for our industry and for our company, and thus for every member of our crew,” says Robert Machtlinger. Key elements in FACC’s commitment to its crew members include fringe benefits such as subsidized lunch menus, a day off on birthdays, and the FACC Bonus Card, the portfolio of which currently includes around 80 benefits and is being expanded continuously. FACC also offers fitness schemes with a free program to promote health and personal fitness.
