1st place for FACC in the ranking of the Industriemagazin

FACC is the company with the highest increase in research expenditure in Austria in 2016.

FACC AG is one of the most innovative companies in Austria and was voted winner in the current “Top 250 industrial enterprises" ranking of the Austrian journal “Industriemagazin” in the category "The curious" as the company with the highest increase in research expenditure.

“We are pleased about this excellent place. It confirms our innovation-driven course. We are systematically investing in the development of new solutions in order to consolidate our top position as a technology partner in the growing aviation market and to give our customers sustainable competitive advantages with forward-looking ideas. At the same time, we see this award as an incentive to pursue this path consistently", explains FACC CEO Robert Machtlinger.

In 2016, FACC achieved a considerable increase in its expenditure on research and development. Robert Machtlinger emphasizes that the focus is on proprietary in-house developments and on cooperation with customers to optimize products. With the aim of actively shaping the mobility of the future, the company is creating innovations made of composite materials that support the central demand for lower weight and greater comfort in aircraft construction and make flying more environmentally friendly and comfortable. In addition to the products themselves, FACC is intensifying development in automation and process optimization. Finally, a new test method for composite components was developed in Ried. FACC is the only Boeing-certified company in the world that is allowed to use this technology in series production. In addition, a comprehensive investment program was launched in the previous year, with up to EUR 100 million being invested in the development of new technologies, products and processes over the next three years. The corresponding increase in the workforce of up to 700 employees also entails a significant boost in the number of specialists working in the fields of technology, research and development.

Who is the best industrial company in the country? This question is asked again every year in the TOP 250 ranking of the industry magazine. Once again this year, the annual ranking of the industry magazine brought the best industrial companies to the stage, which achieved something special in 2016. In total, the top 250 industrial companies generate cumulative sales of 207 billion euros generated by 318,100 employees.
